Windows Live Mail POP3 Configuration

This article describes how to setup your Windows Live Mail 2011 for InVancouver Mail services

Note:  This is for Windows Live Mail and not Windows Mail which replaced Outlook Express and is included in Vista.  Windows Live Mail is a separate download via Windows Live Services.

To begin select options->Email accounts... to get to the email accounts dialog.

Add Email Account

If you have not added any email accounts yet this dialog may be empty. Click on the Add... button to add your InVancouver account.

Account List

For the InVancouver account you will be selecting "Email Account"

Account Type Selection

Next enter in the account information for the email address, password and Display Name you want include, select the "Manually configure server settings" option (otherwise you will experiance trouble sending mail) and click on Next.

Account Details

Set the server settings to:

Incoming Server Information

Server type: POP

Server address: mail.YOURDOMAIN.COM - Please replace YOURDOMAIN.COM with the domain for which you are configuring the mail.

Authenticate using: Clear text

Logon user name: mailbox001 - this is the mailbox ID supplied by InVancouver. This field will be prefilled with the first part of your email address and will likely be incorrect.

Outgoing Server Information

Server Address: mail.YOURDOMAIN.COM - Please replace YOURDOMAIN.COM with the domain for which you are configuring the mail.

Port: 2525 - If the port is not configured to 2525 you will not be able to send mail.

Select "Requires authentication"

Click Next to Finish.

Advanced Details

If everything has been setup correctly you should get confirmation you account has been added.
